Paul Moore
Ardmore Studios
Paul Moore studied Electronics and Telecommunications before moving into sound and lighting at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. He crossed over into production and subsequently directed plays for the Abbey Theatre as well in Philadelphia, London and Belfast. In 1995 he became a founding director of Ardmore Sound based in Ardmore Studios in Ireland. Its purpose was to make the best in world sound post-production available in Ireland to Irish and European film directors and producers. In the space of the last thirteen years most of the premier mixers have mixed movies at Ardmore Sound for Directors including Neil Jordan, John Boorman, Jim Sheridan, Charles Sturridge and John McKenzie. Re-recording mixer Tom Johnson moved to Ireland and based himself out of Ardmore Sound in 2004. More recently Paul Moore has been investigating how film sound can servethe Games Industry. As more and more processing power and greater demand for dynamic soundtracks coupled with creative sound’s ability to expand the gamers experience, has led him to GDC in SF and now Games Conference in Brighton. He is very grateful for the opportunity to interact in real time on sound ideas!
