Robin Beanland

Born in Leeds 27th of August 1968, Robin studied trumpet aged 7 at the Yorkshire College of music and went on to study under the excellent direction of Stuart Russell. Throughout the eighties, he played in various bands, the high point being a Radio One session on the Tommy Vance rock show with his band Brazil. In 1991 Robin turned freelance to write music for TV along as well as for library companies KPM and Bosworth. One notable production was Kay Mellor’s children’s drama for Yorkshire Television ‘Just Us’. Robin started at Rare in 1994; his first game was the arcade classic ‘Killer Instinct’ and he went on to work on most of Rare’s classic titles. In 2001 he won a BAFTA for his sound work on the Nintendo 64 game ‘Conker’s Bad Fur Day’.
